WW Builders Adds Tadano PM 38.5 SP Knuckle Boom Crane

WW Builders Inc. has added a Tadano PM 38.5 SP knuckle boom crane to its equipment fleet. The Oklahoma-based contractor will use the crane for lifting and material handling across regional projects.

The company worked with Tadano distributor BTE Body Company, Inc. to select the new crane. The setup combines a Tadano PM 38525 SP crane with a J813.20 jib.

New Lifting Capability

WW Builders had not previously owned a knuckle boom crane. However, the company sees several potential uses for the equipment.

Scott Fowler, Project Executive at WW Builders, highlighted the crane’s controls and reach. He also cited its tool activations and Mack chassis as key features.

The Tadano PM 38.5 SP will begin work in Arkansas. Its first assignment involves material handling at an Air Force base project.

Compact Design and Long Reach

The PM 38.5 SP belongs to Tadano’s Gold line of knuckle boom cranes. The series combines lifting capacity with compact dimensions and relatively low weight.

The crane uses a rack-and-pinion slewing system for demanding operations. It can also be equipped with up to eight hydraulic extensions.

Jib configurations can include up to five extensions. They can also reach negative angles of 20 degrees.

As a result, the crane offers extended horizontal and vertical working ranges. This flexibility can support a wide range of construction applications.

Partnership Supports Equipment Choice

Jeremy Rendon, Regional Equipment Salesman at BTE Body Company, said reliability and after-sales support were important to customers.

He also highlighted Tadano’s growing parts and service infrastructure. According to Rendon, the combination supports confidence in the PM product line.

Tony Hampton, Director of Sales for PM Group at Tadano, said the purchase reflects a strong partnership between Tadano, BTE Body and WW Builders.

Founded in 1995, WW Builders operates across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Arkansas. The company provides construction management, general contracting and design-build services.

Its in-house capabilities include earthworks, concrete, framing, plumbing, steel erection and roofing. The addition of the Tadano PM 38.5 SP expands its lifting capabilities for future construction projects.
