Union Solar Farm Powers Up Ohio with Commercial Operations

ACCIONA Energía has announced the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for its Union Solar Farm in Ohio (325MWp), officially marking the start of energy production for the Ohio grid.

The Union Solar Farm, located in Marysville, central Ohio, spans 22 square miles and features 760,000 solar panels. With a capacity of 325MWp, the facility can meet the energy needs of nearly 62,000 households and benefits from a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Amazon.

Economic and Social Impact

  • Jobs: Over 370 jobs were created during peak construction, with more than 80% of the workforce local to Ohio. The farm will also maintain up to 20 permanent jobs during operations.
  • Community Support: A portion of the farm’s annual revenues will be reinvested locally through the Social Impact Management program, aimed at improving living conditions in nearby communities.
