VINCI Guinea Electrical Infrastructure Project Overview

VINCI Guinea Electrical Infrastructure Project Overview

VINCI Energies secured a €192 million contract to deliver a major VINCI Guinea electrical infrastructure project, supporting the country’s transition to reliable and sustainable energy systems. Guinea’s Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Economy and Finance signed the agreement.

Scope of the Infrastructure Project

The VINCI Guinea electrical infrastructure project will deliver several key assets that strengthen power generation and transmission:

  • A 50 MWp solar farm
  • 350 km of 225 kV transmission lines
  • Two very-high-voltage transformer stations

These components will expand Guinea’s electricity capacity and improve grid stability. In addition, the solar installation will accelerate the country’s shift toward renewable energy.

Project Timeline and Workforce Impact

VINCI Energies will complete the project within two and a half years and mobilize more than 600 workers across different construction phases.

The company will also train local teams and transfer technical expertise. This approach will build long-term operational capability within the country.

Strategic Importance for Guinea

This VINCI Guinea electrical infrastructure project supports Guinea’s broader strategy to modernize its energy sector. The initiative aims to:

  • Improve energy access and reliability
  • Strengthen energy independence
  • Increase the share of renewable energy

The French government supports the project financially, reinforcing international cooperation and accelerating implementation.

Broader Industry Context

Energy developers worldwide are investing heavily in renewable generation and grid infrastructure. Projects like this enable countries to meet rising electricity demand while reducing emissions.

At the same time, VINCI continues to expand its global presence by delivering complex infrastructure projects across energy and construction sectors.

About VINCI

VINCI operates as a global leader in concessions, construction, and energy solutions. The company employs around 294,000 people across more than 120 countries and delivers infrastructure that supports mobility, energy access, and sustainable development.

Conclusion

The VINCI Guinea electrical infrastructure project will play a critical role in transforming the country’s energy landscape. By combining solar generation with expanded transmission capacity, VINCI will help Guinea build a more resilient and sustainable power system.
