McLaren Construction Yorkshire & North East Secures Place on £1.5bn YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework

Appointment strengthens McLaren’s public sector presence across Yorkshire, the North East and surrounding regions.

McLaren Construction Yorkshire & North East has secured a place on Lot 2 of the £1.5 billion YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework. The lot covers major projects valued at more than £30 million.

The public sector framework covers Yorkshire and Humber, the North East of England, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and parts of Leicestershire. It will provide projects for tender over an initial four-year term, with an option to extend for a further two years.

Supporting Major Public Sector Projects

East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Leeds City Council manage the framework. It provides public sector organisations with a compliant and transparent route to procure major building works.

The framework also promotes value for money, social value and responsible procurement. In addition, it creates opportunities for regional supply chains to participate in major construction projects.

McLaren’s Yorkshire & North East division is led by Managing Director Andrew Beaumont and operates from Leeds city centre. The team brings extensive regional experience and a strong track record in public sector construction.

Its experience across a broad range of projects positions the division to support major schemes delivered through the framework.

The appointment reinforces McLaren’s long-term investment in the region. It also supports the company’s wider growth strategy and strengthens its framework portfolio.

McLaren’s expansion into the public sector contributed £250 million to its turnover during the last financial year.

The Yorkshire & North East division works alongside five sister divisions: London & South, Regeneration, Construction Management & Specialist Projects, Midlands & North, and International.

Together, these divisions draw on technical expertise from McLaren’s head office. Their capabilities include design, digital construction, sustainability, environmental services and social value.

Through the YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework, McLaren will have further opportunities to support public sector clients while creating work for regional businesses and communities.
