McLaren Construction Yorkshire & North East Secures Place on £1.5bn YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework

McLaren Construction Yorkshire & North East has secured a place on Lot 2 of the new £1.5 billion YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework. The lot covers construction projects valued at more than £30 million.

The public sector framework covers Yorkshire and Humber, as well as several surrounding regions. These include the North East of England, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and parts of Leicestershire.

The framework will run for four years. It also includes an option to extend the term by a further two years.

Supporting Major Public Sector Projects

East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Leeds City Council manage the framework. It provides public sector organisations with a compliant and transparent route to procure major building works.

In addition, the framework aims to support value for money and responsible procurement. It also promotes social value and opportunities for regional supply chains.

McLaren’s Yorkshire & North East division is based in Leeds city centre. Managing Director Andrew Beaumont leads the established regional team.

The division brings extensive regional experience and public sector expertise. Its track record covers a broad range of construction projects.

Strengthening Regional Growth

McLaren’s appointment supports its long-term investment in Yorkshire and the North East. It also creates a platform for further growth in the public sector.

The company plans to use the framework to support major schemes where it can add value from the early stages.

Andrew Beaumont, Managing Director at McLaren Construction Yorkshire & North East, said the appointment supports the division’s strategic objectives. He also highlighted the framework’s focus on social value and local supply chains.

Through the framework’s YOR4Good Fund and YORscep, McLaren will have opportunities to support communities and regional suppliers.

Expanding Public Sector Work

The McLaren Construction YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework appointment adds to the company’s strong framework portfolio.

McLaren’s expansion into the public sector generated £250 million of turnover in the last financial year. Therefore, the new framework strengthens an increasingly important part of the company’s business.

Yorkshire & North East operates alongside five other McLaren divisions. These include London & South, Regeneration, Construction Management & Specialist Projects, Midlands & North and International.

Together, the divisions draw on technical expertise from McLaren’s head office. This includes design, digital construction, sustainability, environmental services and social value.

Overall, the McLaren Construction YORbuild Major Works 2 Framework provides the company with a strong platform to deliver major public sector projects. It also supports its continued investment and sustainable growth across the region.
