Skanska has signed an agreement to expand Hall prison in Södertälje, Sweden, with a project value of approximately SEK 810 million.
Major Prison Expansion Project Begins
Skanska will carry out the expansion of Hall prison for Specialfastigheter Sverige AB.
The project will be included in Skanska’s Sweden order intake for the second quarter of 2026.
The construction company has worked on preparations for the project since spring 2025.
New Buildings and Infrastructure Work
The expansion includes the construction of three buildings, additional supporting facilities, and ground and foundation work.
The project aims to improve the prison’s facilities and support future operational needs.
Skanska expects to complete the work and hand over the expanded site to Specialfastigheter Sverige AB in spring 2029.
Long-Term Partnership
Including work already invoiced, the total project value for Skanska reaches approximately SEK 890 million.
The project strengthens Skanska’s role in delivering large-scale public infrastructure and specialized construction projects in Sweden.
