Skanska to Build Four Data Centers in Southeast U.S. in USD 1.2 Billion Deal

Skanska has secured a USD 1.2 billion contract to build four new data centers in the southeastern United States. The project is worth approximately SEK 11.2 billion.

The contract comes from an existing client and will be included in Skanska’s U.S. order bookings for the third quarter of 2026.

Four data centers to cover 75,000 square meters

The project will involve the construction of four data centers with a combined area of approximately 75,000 square meters, or 808,000 square feet.

Skanska will deliver both the building shells and interior fit-outs. The work will cover technical spaces, support areas and office functions.

The development will help expand data center capacity in the southeastern U.S., where demand for digital infrastructure continues to grow.

Construction starts in 2026

Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026. Skanska expects to complete the project in the third quarter of 2028.

With the USD 1.2 billion contract, Skanska continues to strengthen its position in the U.S. data center market and its broader portfolio of large-scale infrastructure projects.
