Tadano AC 5.250L-2: The Newest Addition to Patriot

Patriot Crane & Rigging Adds Tadano AC 5.250L-2 to Fleet

Patriot Crane & Rigging has expanded its fleet with its first Tadano AC 5.250L-2 all-terrain crane, adding a 300-ton lifting option for customers across Nebraska and the wider Midwest.

The company purchased the crane through Tadano’s Nebraska distributor, RTL Equipment. The new machine will support Patriot’s taxi crane service and help the company handle larger and more demanding projects.

300-Ton Crane Adds Lifting Capacity

The Tadano AC 5.250L-2 is a five-axle all-terrain crane with a maximum capacity of 300 US tons.

It features a 259-foot, seven-section main boom, providing the reach required for a range of lifting applications. These include urban construction, industrial assembly and the erection of large tower cranes.

In addition, the crane features Tadano’s IC-1 Plus control system. It also includes a Surround View system with six cameras to support visibility around the crane.

Scott “Sham” Shamburg, owner of Patriot Crane & Rigging, said the machine will allow the company to take on larger and more challenging projects.

“This crane gives us the lifting capacity, reach, and versatility needed for several larger and more challenging projects in our region,” Shamburg said.

Designed for Taxi Crane Operations

Transport flexibility was another factor behind Patriot’s investment.

The Tadano AC 5.250L-2 can operate as a taxi crane with a 26,500-pound axle load configuration. This setup allows the crane to carry significant equipment while meeting applicable road requirements.

Meanwhile, its counterweight system provides additional transport flexibility. The design can allow operators to use smaller transport trucks when jobsite space is limited.

As a result, Patriot can move the crane between projects while maintaining the lifting capacity needed for larger jobs.

Partnership With RTL Equipment and Tadano

RTL Equipment CEO Ben Steege said Tadano’s focus on quality aligns with Patriot Crane & Rigging’s approach to customer service.

“Tadano cranes really excel in providing a high-quality experience for our customers,” Steege said. He added that Patriot has built its reputation around quality and service.

Tadano America Regional Business Manager Dave Kuhlman also expects the crane to support Patriot’s operations across Nebraska.

“The AC 5.250L-2 is an outstanding machine, and it will be the perfect taxi crane for Patriot’s extensive customer base across Nebraska,” Kuhlman said.

Patriot Expands Midwest Crane Capabilities

Patriot Crane & Rigging has served contractors and businesses in Nebraska for more than 14 years.

The addition of the Tadano AC 5.250L-2 strengthens its ability to handle larger lifts while maintaining mobility between jobsites.

The investment also builds on the partnership between Patriot, RTL Equipment and Tadano, with the companies focusing on safety, quality, efficiency and reliability across crane operations.
