Tadano Aftersales Service: Rapid Support Unmatched

Tadano Aftersales Service Restores Aerial Work Platform Within Hours

Tadano has demonstrated the importance of rapid equipment support after its Mobile Workshop restored an aerial work platform to safe operating condition within hours in Italy.

The machine, part of Tadano’s Oil & Steel series, failed to meet the required 1,000 V insulation standard during a routine inspection.

The timing was critical. The platform was due to travel into the mountains that same day to help repair a power line damaged by a storm.

However, the inspection result meant the equipment could not safely proceed with the planned work.

Mobile Workshop Responds to Urgent Repair

Tadano quickly deployed its Mobile Workshop, a service vehicle equipped with tools and staffed by trained technicians.

The team travelled directly to the customer’s location and completed the required repairs on site.

As a result, the platform returned to safe operating condition within a few hours. It could then proceed with the planned power line repair operation.

Alessandro Di Simone, Service & Electronic Systems Manager for the Oil & Steel Series, said growing demand for rental equipment has increased the need for reliable technical support.

He explained that machines now operate in a wider range of environments, making fast service increasingly important.

Tadano Expands Spare Parts Infrastructure in Italy

Alongside its field service operations, Tadano aftersales service has benefited from improvements to the company’s spare parts network.

Between July and December 2024, Tadano introduced a new vertical warehouse at its Italian operation. The project involved an investment of approximately €100,000.

The facility includes 43 drawer units and stores more than 2,500 spare-part references.

In addition, a Warehouse Management System (WMS) tracks orders from receipt through shipment. This helps improve stock control while reducing picking errors.

According to Tadano, almost 90% of spare parts orders ship within 24 hours of receipt.

Libero Gambi, Parts Manager, said reliable delivery depends on strong internal systems, accurate order tracking and fewer errors.

Mobile Workshop Supports Customers Across Italy

Tadano’s Mobile Workshop has operated for around two years. During this period, it has supported customers through approximately 25 to 30 field interventions annually across Italy.

The service can also assist Tadano’s European distributors when required.

Technicians can complete several types of work on site, including hydraulic repairs, component replacement, cable and connector repairs, and basic mechanical repairs.

Meanwhile, Tadano’s authorised workshop network handles more complex service requirements.

The Mobile Workshop helps customers avoid unnecessary equipment transport and reduces delays when repairs can be completed at the operating location.

Remote Monitoring Helps Reduce Equipment Downtime

Tadano also offers a remote connectivity system for fleet operators, including equipment rental companies.

The technology allows customers to monitor machine status and location while planning maintenance activities.

Furthermore, operators can update software and selected control unit parameters remotely.

These capabilities can reduce the need for certain service visits and support more efficient fleet management.

Operator Training Strengthens Equipment Safety

Training is another part of Tadano’s aftersales support.

The company operates as an International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) authorised training centre.

It provides training for internal and external personnel and issues around 100 licences each year.

Additionally, Tadano conducts regular refresher courses for authorised workshops to help technicians maintain their skills.

Focus on Safety and Equipment Availability

Tadano’s approach combines mobile repairs, spare parts availability, remote monitoring and technical training.

Together, these services aim to reduce equipment downtime while supporting safe and reliable operation.

The recent repair in Italy shows how rapid technical support can help customers maintain urgent work schedules without compromising equipment safety.

For operators handling critical infrastructure repairs, timely Tadano aftersales service can make a significant difference in keeping essential projects moving.
