HOCHTIEF has won a contract worth several hundred million euros to build a 36 MW data center for NTT Global Data Centers in Berlin. The project strengthens the company’s position in Europe’s fast-growing digital infrastructure market.
Moreover, the contract supports HOCHTIEF’s strategy to expand its data center portfolio across the region.
Construction to Begin in 2026
HOCHTIEF Infrastructure and Dornan, a Turner subsidiary, will jointly deliver the project.
The team will begin construction in summer 2026. It expects to hand over the first data halls in 2028 and complete the entire facility in 2029.
Modern Data Center Facility
The project includes a three-story data center with 36 MW of capacity and a four-story office building.
In addition, the team will install all mechanical and electrical systems, along with advanced safety and building management technologies.
Meeting Growing Demand
HOCHTIEF CEO Juan Santamaría said the contract strengthens the company’s leadership in digital infrastructure. He also noted that Germany continues to see strong demand for new data center capacity.
Meanwhile, HOCHTIEF Infrastructure CEO Peter Hingott highlighted the company’s local expertise and experience in delivering complex construction projects.
Dornan Group Managing Director Micheál O’Connor added that the company will provide the specialist mechanical and electrical services needed for a project of this scale.
Data Centers Drive Growth
Data centers remain a key growth area for HOCHTIEF.
In 2025, the company secured €16.8 billion in new data center orders. As a result, the sector now represents 21% of the group’s total order backlog.
