Manitowoc has strengthened its European service footprint with the opening of a new 900 sq. m facility near Warsaw, aimed at supporting its growing crane customer base in Poland.
Strategic Expansion to Support Growing Crane Fleet
To begin with, the new service center will primarily support Grove all-terrain and rough-terrain cranes, which already have a strong presence across Poland.
Moreover, the facility forms part of Manitowoc’s broader CRANES+50 strategy, focused on expanding aftermarket services and improving customer responsiveness across Europe.
As a result, customers benefit from faster service turnaround and improved access to technical support.
Enhanced Aftermarket Services and Capabilities
Importantly, the Warsaw facility is a certified EnCORE™ location, offering:
- Full crane rebuilds
- Refurbishment services
- Repairs and lifecycle support
In addition, the site will soon begin its first EnCORE™ project, marking the start of localized refurbishment capabilities in Poland.
Each technician is equipped with fully stocked service vans, enabling efficient on-site maintenance and minimizing equipment downtime.
Future Growth and Brand Expansion
While the facility initially focuses on Grove cranes, Manitowoc plans to extend support to other brands, including Potain tower cranes.
Furthermore, the company intends to:
- Expand its technical workforce
- Introduce operator training programs
- Strengthen nationwide service coverage through partners
Consequently, the facility will evolve into a comprehensive service hub for multiple crane segments.
Industry Context: Expanding Service Networks in Construction Equipment
Overall, Manitowoc’s investment reflects a broader industry trend toward localized service infrastructure. As equipment fleets grow, manufacturers are prioritizing proximity to customers to reduce downtime and improve lifecycle management.
This trend aligns with equipment service expansion strategies in global construction markets, where companies invest in regional hubs to enhance support capabilities.
Similarly, it connects with advanced maintenance technologies and telematics-driven service models, which enable proactive diagnostics and more efficient fleet management.
Outlook
With hundreds of cranes already operating in Poland, the new Warsaw facility positions Manitowoc for sustained growth in the region. By combining local expertise, advanced service capabilities, and future training initiatives, the company aims to deliver stronger customer support and long-term value.
